GOSC has submitted comments and corrections to ECHA’s draft list of Substances of Concern (SoC) identified in packaging under the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
GOSC provided information on organotin substances used as catalysts and plastic additives, including their current packaging uses, technical functions and status as intentionally added substances. GOSC also requested greater transparency where substances are identified as negatively affecting recycling, noting that impacts depend on the material, concentration, application and recycling process.
GOSC has offered further technical information and dialogue with ECHA to support accurate, evidence-based conclusions and appropriate future regulatory decisions.
